Objectives :
It is hoped that by the end of the lesson, you will be able to: -Select a relevant article related to diplomacy in the context of Singapore -Analyse the article using Paul’s Wheel of reasoning -Work collaboratively as a group
Task : Step 1 : Form groups -Each class will be grouped in this order:
E.g. Class X – index no. 1-5 forms one group. In this group, index. no. 1 is the group leader. This is followed by index no. 6-10 who forms the 2nd group and in this group index no. 6 is the group leader and so on.
- Name your own group.
Step 2: Select and analyse article
Instructions:
1. Group members are to meet and discuss cyberly via MSN messenger etc.
2. As a group, source for articles related to ‘diplomacy’. Select the best article. oNote that the content of your article has to be rich enough to analyse at least five aspects of the spokes of the Wheel.
oIt MUST be in the context of Singapore. For instance, you may wish to select an article related to MM Lee’s recent 8-day visit to Malaysia on a diplomatic basis early this June as it had invited varied responses from Malaysia.
3. Ensure that everyone in the group has access to the article.
4. Provide the URL and acknowledge your article, that is, where you’ve taken it from.
5. Analyse your article using the attached worksheet above.
Submission of work (group): Respective group leaders are to deposit your group’s work via ivle to me.
On your work, include your class, group name and members’ names with the index no.
